ABDOMINOPLASTY
WHAT IS IT?
Abdominoplasty is a cosmetic procedure used to make the abdomen thinner and firmer.
The procedure involves the removal of excess fat, tightens the abdominal skin, and repairs separated abdominal muscles to restore a flatter, firmer and more youthful abdominal profile.
AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE?
Women with excess fat and skin on the abdominal area are often good candidates for abdominoplasty. You may be a candidate for abdominoplasty if you are:
· Healthy
· At a stable weight
· Non-smokers
· Realistic about their expectations
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?
Your abdominoplasty will take place at our surgery centre. BH Cosmetic Surgery is CPSO accredited, and is known for its professional standards, safety and goods results. Following the operation, you’ll go home the day of the procedure. Make sure to have someone drive you home afterward and help and monitor you for the first 24 hours.
HOW LONG IS RECOVERY?
Patient will need to spend about two weeks recuperating and should plan on taking two full weeks off from work. Exercise and more strenuous activities can be gradually resumed about six to eight weeks following surgery. Always speak to your surgeon regarding post-op recovery.
